Recently sold estate, so this is still the original take on Riesling. Great wine that works so, so well gastronomically! Good to drink on its own, but really comes to its own when paired with good food. Very versatile! The petrol on this wine is just in my window.

A very ripe Riesling with intense exotic fruit aromas and just about enough acidity to keep it in balance (though I would've liked it a bit higher). In the vein of modern, warm vintage GGs which tend to turn out very attractive, but a little uniform and samey.

Concentrated aromas from fully ripe grapes are not fruit-driven but multiply layered, ranging from ripe yellow apple, yellow plum, nectarine, Mayer lemon, spice, lily, blossom, wet stones, honey, and beeswax, which are precise and complex. Its high acidity is structured yet controlled. On the palate, this wine has quite a weight with an oily texture, contributing to the intensity and long finish. The taut balance between fruits and acidity is like heaven to me. Outstanding.

4.2. No secret that I’m a fan of HL. 2018 being very hot year, brings both challenges and great opportunity, depending of the winemaker one of the two will show the upper hand. Here clearly the beauty of 2018 is captured. This wine is very approachable and lovely to drink even at this young age. And will age beautifully as well. But it is no waste to drink it now. Apricot and hints of green apple, herbal nose. Bit of flint and a whiff of sweetness. Excellent balance. This will turn amazing with time

For a Mosel Riesling, almost unusually weighty, yet the lively acidity keeps everything elegantly in balance. Long, mineral finish. 🦏 🦏. 🦏 Aia-aja-aya-Abend im Weinclub. Honig umgarnt Weinbergspfirsich, dazu reifes Obst in Hülle und Fülle. Für einen Moselaner fast ungewohnt gewichtig, doch die lebhafte Säure bringt alles elegant ins Lot. Langes, mineralisches Finale.
