A fresh and elegant Spanish Sauvignon Blanc from Rueda. Expressive citrus and tropical fruit aromas, with notes of grapefruit, green apple, passion fruit and subtle herbal nuances. Crisp acidity, a light to medium body and a refreshing, clean finish. Well-balanced, lively and very enjoyable, especially with seafood and Japanese cuisine.

Light yellow, clear and bright. Light notes of citrus, passion fruit and pineapple on the nose. Bone dry, plenty of stone minerality and a very light zing in the decent acidity. Nice.

Bright straw color with a greenish hue, youthful and inviting. The nose is lively and expressive, bursting with freshly cut grass, flinty minerality, green gooseberry, fennel, and bright citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium bodied with a crisp, almost crunchy texture. Citrus and melon flavors dominate, supported by well-balanced acidity that keeps the wine fresh and vibrant. While pleasant and easy to enjoy, the finish is somewhat shallow and lacks the complexity.

Bright, aromatic and fresh.
Aromas of lime, gooseberry, green herbs and white peach. The palate is lively and crisp, with fresh acidity carrying citrus and green fruit flavours. Well balanced and easy to enjoy, with a clean, zesty finish. [Tim Atkin Rueda Tasting April 2026]

This is a tasty Spanish SB, and very reasonably priced (Amazon currently has it on sale for ¥1600). Although clearly SB, some might find it rather tame relative to its zesty New Zealand cousins. (As an aside, I also bought a bottle of the more expensive Marques de Riscal Verdejo Limousin white wine, but preferred this one.)

Fresh and clean SB from Ruedas, Spain. On the sight it is pale with green nuances and watery hue. On the nose it has grass notes with rich fruit bouquet of orchards and tropical fruits. Ithe mouth it opens up with citrus, green apple and peach, alongside passion fruit and melon. It has medium-light body and nice minerality. The finish is medium long and gravitates towards grapefruit. Despites the high summer heat in the region, the wine is with well preserved acidity. Fresh and nicely done.
