Impressive. Hard pressed to think of another wine as dry with as much balance and approachability as this. Rich golden colour imparted from the barrel - the impact of which on the palette is very subtle. Just lovely.

What a nice surprise from Basque Country. Golden yellow colour. Highly intense on the nose, fennel, thyme, quince, and ripe pear followed by some nectarines. Rich grip on the palate, salt, sea urchin and brilliant freshness and creamy notes from 100% malolactic fermentation. Full bodied white with incredible length and almost two minutes of finish. Finish with a lot of flint and a grip reminiscent of volcanic soils. Phenomenal stuff!

So I did; Mama Mia, this Spanish IRI is a super trooper of a wine. King Cropp in Danville, Virginia had this on their menue following a racing event at VIR.
