Has all the qualities to become a superstar in a few years. We were so excited when @[1|9346006|Nicolas Cardenas Paez] offered this beauty up. Godello is the new star in Spain's répertoire.

Superior quality, incredible complexity and elegance... But absurd price tag, hence a couple of points less. Pale yellow color. Ample bouquet even if not very intense ranging from stone fruit, citrus, minerals, honey, acacia, banana and a touch of vanilla. Dry and medium body l with great balance and pronounced acidity that delivers freshness. Gentle creamy texture. Good persistence.

(2024) From GALICIA region, Spain. A nice WHITE wine, that I tasted at the producer's stand at a wine fair. Because it was a very brief tasting, I didn't retain enough of it to comment further. However 14% ABV. I find this alcohol content too high for a table wine and, therefore, not very gastronomical. I reduced my rating by 0.5 because of this aspect.

Finally getting a chance to try this, Spain’s best Godello, courtesy of @[1|21302963|Pierre D.] M(-) lemon. Lemon pith, salt, butter, orange zest, persimmon,Parmesan, fennel High abv, m. acidity, pronounced body; very spherical and weighty on the tongue Butter, aniseed, confit lemon zest, frangipane Powerful long, fresh finish. Verdict: outstanding if still too young; loads of further potential.

Brief notes from a tasting with Jancis Robinson at Barcelona Wine Week. Single vineyard. 710m. Ripe melon, pear, orange zest and peach on the nose. Palate has some creaminess to it, with juicy green apple, plus lemon pith and a touch of nectarine. Great precision and balance. JR compared to a Puligny Montrachet. Mouthwatering acidity, neverending finish. Wow.

Probably one of the best whites I’ve tried. It was the 2020. Unique , delicate and complex aroma of minerals, tangerine, toast. In the mouth is very fluid yet filling your mouth with an incredible minerality and density. Acidity is on point. Super long and pleasing. A Godello stellar masterpiece.
