This is solid! Really great example of a more modern robust style of Ribera del Duero. Nose is dark fruit like black cherry, blackberry, cassis, pencil shavings, dried herbs and a subtle amount of smoke and grilled meat. The palate is a little more subdued on the dark fruit, with cedar, cigar box, a little vanilla, green herbs and a little savory elements. The tannins are firm but integrate with and balanced with nice acidity. This is really an excellent wine

This is serious Ribera. Proper depth straight away — dark fruit, black cherry, a bit of cocoa, but everything controlled. Oak is there but integrated, not shouting. Tannins firm but polished. Feels expensive in the mouth — structured, layered, and just keeps going on the finish. This isn’t supermarket Ribera, this is sit-down-and-pay-attention Ribera.
