Aug 2024. Clear deep ruby. Aromatic cocoa, dark plum, dark chocolate, mocha, cedar, cigar box, leather, game meat, sweet spicy, cinnamon, roasted plum and wood furniture in nose. Dry, medium plus round tannin and acidity with dark fruit, prune juice, casis, smoky plum, plum juice, dark chocolate, cedar wood, leather, licorice and game meat in palate. Good balance medium long fruity oaky finish. 14 months barrel aged in 40% French oak, 60% American oak, 14.5%abv, and full body.

Toro time 🥳, poured out by @[1|2962158|Ruud Berlie]! Opening typical in style: a cherry power bombe packed with a bunch of sweet spices showing black cherries, plums, matured effect of dried meat, leather, etherical whiff, sweet blond tobacco & sweet well integrated oak. Expected smoothness on the palate, but this is quite young and a bit rough (but still highly enjoyable) at this stage. It offers ripe black fruit, herbal influences creating the roughness, good red cherry tension with morello effect in sweet ⤵️⤵️⤵

(16/20) Blind tasted. Great structure, high tannins, screams for food. Again left-bank Bordeaux, I think, but better quality than the previous wine. More concentration and length, more complexity too. Medium+ intense aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, red plum, blueberry, green bell pepper, violet, cigar tobacco, leather, black pepper, liquorice wood, bay leaf. Ruby red colored with nose of cherry and raspberry combined with vanilla, leather and bit of smoke. Medium bodied, dry with medium plus acidity and low on tanines. The palate continues with red fruit flavours with some leather and pepper. I took this wine as recommendation of my local wine shop and it was not best choice. Nice everyday drinker, but that is it. My main complain here is that it is overpriced, while it delivers just the same as young Rioja or Valpolicella.

The wine lack of complexity as expected but you can't ask for more for an unknown 31 years old Toro wine! Bravo Muruve!
