Only after an additional year in bottle it seems to have found its footing. Star bright yellow color. Developed nose of lemons, vanilla, apricot, beeswax and roasted almonds. A creamy, concentrated structure shows a lees feel from barrel aging where the pinpoint fruit opens-up candied lemons, citrus zest, apricots and waxy honeyed grapefruit. Plenty of verve and tension with a vibrating terroir song in the long finish. From a 1ha vineyard along the Layon river it offers a unique dry take on Chenin Blanc. **17,5p

Loire study session at 67pm w Team FWS, Woot, Alan, Eebs Apples, slightly honeyed, some stone and cream. What you’d expect a Loire CB to be, with quite an amenable and unoffensive fruity style. Nicely balanced with nice freshness. Unfortunately overshadowed by the excellent Fides of the same vintage.
