4.3. 2022. While the 2022 has more resid sugar than normal, it is still super fresh, crisp, with exotic notes of banana, apricots, vanilla, orange zest, tangerine, honey, cinnamon etc. Great stuff. And their Sauternes are generally better young.

Hangs with Benson, & he pulls out this lovely aged Sauternes after dinner! Amazing stuff. A reminder to drink more of this quality noble rot, as I don’t buy much. Nothing like it! Canned peaches 🍑 (with that lovely syrup to drink after), old raw honey 🍯, orange 🍊 marmalade, roasted pecans, liquified apricot, minerals Sweet but balanced w acidity, the key 🔑 here. With Kurt and Julia over for dinner, we opened a few wines. The dessert wine I provided was a Premier Cru Classé Sauternes, from producer Château Lafaurie-Payraguey. From the great 2005 vintage, it had darker colour to definitely suggest age. This had notes of bruised peach, honey, toasted almonds, apricot and orange peel. UGCB Tasting. Ripe, very ripe, and over ripe pineapples, mangos, candied oranges, apricot, flowers, honey, and marmalade create the intoxicating perfume. Perfectly perched between its decadently, sweet side, and its raciness on the other side, this is sublime. The roasted passion fruits, mangos, apricots, pineapple, roasted cashews, and saffron on the palate are all slathered with honey. This has the potential to be a future legendary sweet wine.
