Not bad but quite disappointing for its price point and compared to other wines from Raul Perez. 👁️ Med ruby with garnet rim. 👃 Clean, med intensity, sour black fruit, cherry, plum, prune, blackberry, cassis and watermelon. Menthol, anise, oak, earthy, wet leaves. Developing, but has some sense of VA or something (vinegary, green sourness). 👅 Dry, high acidity, med alcohol, smooth med tannins gives nice structure and med body. Med+ flavor intensity with same notes, with med+ but green bitter finish.

Good, not exceptionally great. Dark fruit of mulberry and blackberry but also a quite dominant nose and palate of menthol and mint. 5-spice powder finish. Some natural vanilla as expected but I honestly expected a bit more from this bottle. A bit underwhelming.

A good wine and yet disappointing, does that make sense? Well - on one hand it is quite tasty and well made with some typical Mencia features. On the other hand, it’s a bit simple and definitely not complex enough for the ~50 euro it cost. And it is part of the Raul Perez empire which drives even a higher expectations 🧐 Red fruit of cherry and pomegranate, and a touch of blackberry - however the fruit is quite weak here. Earthy with licorice and crushed gravel.
