Continuing on the Arnaud Ente path. This wine has a beautiful nose, and lovely color. Definitely a Meursault as taste is rich, with a hint of citrus, possibly slight honey, and great minerality. Amazing Chardonnay-better than a few of the Grand Cru white Burgundies I’ve had this year! Paired amazingly well with Crabmeat Maison.

Oswalds Meilin‘s bottle. The purity and precision is incredible. When we took it off from ice bucket the reductive minerality comes out. Chalk gently grips. Lime. Taut. Hints of orange peel. 3 hours in glass, it developed more round and light creaminess with hints of butterscotch. Growing appreciation of this style which I wouldn’t enjoy 2 years ago.

Very pale color. It is fresh and clean, with a subtly mature blend of white fruit aromas, complemented by notes of hazelnut, spices, and hints of wood. The more mineral-driven flavors possess excellent body and are truly very delicate, even fragile, before culminating in a long-lasting finish.

Fourth Chardonnay blind, four different styles, four great wines. Arnaud Ente is one of those super sought-after, high-end Burg producers. Impossible to get anymore apparently, but nothing too special we thought. The beauty of blind tasting! Crushed shell, sesame, struck match, crazy reduction, covering any other aroma. For the long haul, ok, but too closed now. Lightb+, high acid. Caramelised pear, apple, saline note. Lacks density on the mid-palate, but comes back on a textured m+ minty finish. 4.0+ 12.5% abv.

Medium + body with a medium to medium + oak touch and a medium + to high acidity. Notes of lemon, unripe apricot, smoke, fresh lumber and citrus butter. Rich and creamy body with a present but not heavy oaky influence, combined with a razor sharp acidity. Still just a child, and needs time for the fruit and oak to really combined, 3+ years more in the cellar is recommended.

Fantastic nose with high concentration of mature fruit. At first a whiff of stone dust and then layers of lemon, white peach, citrus all encapsulated with a creamy but elegant long oak finish. Saved half a glass 7 hours still as potent then as when we drank it after 30 minutes of decanting. Superb wine!
