Been on the wishlist for quite a while, but all bottles are in @[1|52636270|Atila Van 't Hof]’s cellar so it’s hard to find at a good price. Finally found one that wasn’t and it didn’t disappoint. Low ABV (12,5%) which was a bit surprising for this climate. This is round, with custard, honey, citrus and well integrated oak with (again) surprisingly a lot of acidity to keep things interesting. ThomasW’ine Club: Blancos Excepcionales de 🇪🇸 A Spanish myth I’m happy to share. Not an easy wine at all. Hard to get, hard to understand, but a great experience that evening! Intense mushroom and nuts, orange and lemon peel, nutmeg and turmeric, bruised apple and caramel. Ever-changing. Savoury, glyceric, with a great freshness, long and complex. Bright golden color. Complex and aromatic wine with aromas of dried apricot, honey, lemon peel and flint. Appealing hints of sherry fino. Oxidative in style and creamy. Medium body, high acid, smooth texture and well structured wine. The bottle was tasted over a period of 3 hours and it kept developing beautifully during that time. Long finish with somewhat salty, but pleasant, notes.
