Without doubt the best white Rioja I have ever tasted (and I have tasted fine wines for 65 years). Deep golden colour. Very viscous. Very fine nose of white currant and green gooseberries. Oak in the best possible way. Also lime. Dry, excellent acidity, medium bodied. Opens up wonderfully. The firm grip held all the way to the fabulous finish. Aftertaste lasted for minutes.

4,2-4,3⭐️ Traditional white Rioja, mainly Viura grapes but also small amounts of Garnacha Blanca and Malvasia. Hand-harvested, fermented on fine lees and aged 18 months on oak, followed by long bottle ageing. Golden colour. Aromas of dried apple, pear, honey, chamomile, almonds and subtle vanilla (oak) Medium plus body with creamy texture, medium plus acidity, 13% alcohol and a lung nutty, slightly saline finish I love this type of wine. Especially when having holiday in Spain. Keep it 10 years if you can!

I really really love the freshness and the citrusiness despite the 18 months in barrel and 60 months in bottle ageing. It's got a wonderful complexity still, but the lemony perfume and the good acidity in the mouth are the really surprising bits. Beautiful white Rioja (and the 10% Malvasia touch makes it even more interesting)
