Descubre la excelencia enológica de Rafael Palacios As Sortes Godello 2023, un vino blanco seco de distinción incomparable. Proveniente de los viñedos propiedad de Rafael Palacios en D.O. Valdeorras, este vino encarna la esencia de la tradición vitivinícola combinada con técnicas modernas.

Las uvas provienen de viñedos centenarios, conocidos como las "sortes", adquiridos por Rafael Palacios entre los años 2004 y 2007. Estas parcelas, ubicadas en la cara norte del Valle del Bibei, en Santa Cruz do Bolo, a más de 680 metros sobre el nivel del mar, ofrecen un terroir único que se refleja en cada botella. La variedad Godello, con una edad media de 40 años y clones recuperados de antiguas cepas tradicionales, se cultiva con esmero en suelos de granito arenoso, poco fértiles pero ricos en carácter. Este entorno singular, junto con una viticultura basada en la tradición y el respeto por la naturaleza, da como resultado vinos de carácter distintivo y auténtico.

Absolutely delicious. Intense and perfectly balanced nose of fruit and secondaries. Lemon, pink grapefruit, nectarine, baked apple, bruised pear, wrapped in gentle cream. Full bodied and silky, but with a zippy acidity that cleans the pallet beautifully. Long citrus finish.

Spanish and Portugal may wine dinner This godello wine is really really enjoyable. Love the high acidity and structure which balances each other out very well along with the salt and minerality. Known as the burgundy of Spain, but I don’t think so it is. It’s more of its kind of wine.

Third (well, & fourth) glass of the pairing at one-starred Magoga in Cartagena was Rafael Palacios’ Valdeorras/Bibei Valley project & the entry-level ’As Sortes’ (v23, 14% ABV, Godello). Palacios always strikes the perfect balance, this is no exception. Ultra-pure, cool nose of green, fresh orchard fruits - apples & pears, iodine, white flowers, lemony core. Brisk, balanced, youngish m+-bodied palate, pronounced mineral-drive, barrel spice & saltiness w delicate fruit-feel leading to a smart, lengthy & dry close!

The best Godello to date for me! Fantastic pear butter bold and long finish style. 5-10 minutes in the glass, and that was absolutely stunning! Sure there must be plenty of top wines like this or better, but for what I know, this is top notch! It worth the price.
