93/93 points Pure earthy griotte cherry, forest berries, dark currant, sous bois and distinct oak toffee. On the palate, an energetic, ripe and pure delivery, off-glossy. Impressive concentration, depth and length; a fine 1er by distinction in all but name. Even better than my last bottle, leaning more on integration of earth infused fruit, and spice while still strutting velvet structural tannins and a fruit acidity driven core. This is galaxies from any pedestrian village - pure honed elegance, and very fine.

Thiswine has a brilliant ruby red color. Beautiful complex aromas of sage and undergrowth surrounding a core of raspberry and red cherry and red fruit wrapped in earthy shades. On the palate there are abundant mint tones and notes of sage with bright raspberry flavor, leading to a long and clean aftertaste.

Lovely burgundy, bursts with freshness and energy, very round and balanced red fruit raspberry cherry strawberry. Most impressively lacks the tart bitterness so commonly found even in high end burgundy red . Would recommend again

Nicolas with the legend himself, Rudy Kurniawan. Honestly my fave wine of the night (peasant palate lol). So supple and elegant in texture, it had us all thinking Chambolle or (just maybe) VR with the gentle sweet spices and dried rose aromas. Sumptuous red fruit on the nose with oak, milk chocolate and developing forest floor aromas. Rudy explained that village wines are hard to blind because being a blend of different plots they are less terroir-expressive (but therefore often more crowd-pleasing).

#3, Pinot from GC, 2015 in 2022. I liked this more than Harmand-Geoffrey, honestly: a little less humidor to allow the other fruits forward. Red fruit of cherry and raspberry; black pepper and of course tobacco. Med high acid, med alcohol, pronounced intensity and long finish. Med tannin. And so so silky. So elegant. Like wearing a slip in the twilight hours listening to Duke Ellington. There you go.

I quite like the wines of Perrot-Minot but this Gevrey was in a class of its own. Sensual and vibrant, no rusticity or greenness/bitterness. Red-fruited, super floral, mineral and fruit-tea-like, but with a firm tannic grip and acidic tension. One of the best Village wines I've tasted so far. 4,3 ⭐
