Méo-Camuzet Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023 es un vino blanco seco elaborado con Chardonnay en la prestigiosa zona de Côte de Beaune, en Borgoña (Francia). Procede de Domaine Méo-Camuzet, una bodega situada en Vosne-Romanée y ampliamente reconocida por producir algunos de los vinos más destacados de la Côte d’Or, procedentes de viñedos Grand Cru de gran prestigio.

Este vino se elabora siguiendo una filosofía de intervención mínima y prácticas cercanas a la biodinámica, lo que permite reflejar con precisión el carácter del terroir y resaltar la pureza aromática del vino. Procede de la célebre colina de Corton, un enclave histórico de Borgoña famoso por dar origen a algunos de los blancos más extraordinarios de la región.

Para su elaboración se seleccionan uvas Chardonnay cultivadas en laderas de suelos calcáreos, cuya mineralidad y frescura definen el estilo del vino. La vinificación se realiza con gran cuidado para preservar la expresión de la fruta y la identidad del Cru. Tanto la fermentación como la crianza se llevan a cabo en barricas de roble francés, con una proporción significativa de roble nuevo, durante un período aproximado de 12 a 15 meses.

Ripe and inviting, with golden apple, lemon curd, brioche, acacia, light herbs and a touch of oak over a stony, mineral backdrop. The nose has charm and breadth, though it feels more generous than especially precise or complex. Medium+ bodied with a creamy, rounded texture and good saline grip, the palate is enjoyable but slightly broad and not fully knit. There is solid weight and balance, yet the finish lacks the refinement and persistence expected at this level. Worth trying, but not convincing enough to buy.

Probably my first Grand-cru white wine. When the temperature was low, green apple, citrus, smooth oak was present, quite simple than expected. But after some time, complex aromas came to life, pie crust could be one of the examples. Elegant and subtle wine, vividly changing overtime and temperature.

Drop dead gorgeous and oozing with pedigree. Tasted blind, there was no doubt this was a Grand Cru from the Côtes de Beaune with its intense flavour concentration, elegance and mineral texture. No oak detected. Not Puligny or Chevalier or Batard Montrachet, it must be a Corton Charlemagne. Bingo!

Meo Camuzet buys grapes from 2 separate parcels, one on the Pernard side and the other on Aloxe side. Ripe citus fruits, slightly hot tropical fruits. Big and clumsy with overripe fruits, disappointing consider most 2011 are gentle and approachable. (84/100)

Wow! I red earlier from fellows here about whites by Meo, but I didn't expect such amazing result! Wonderful green apples blossoming flowers, calvados and touch of oak. Saturated, powerful and very straight, acidity is higher than average. In the taste are passion fruits, rotten - almost bad - green apples, green melons and white plums. Minerality is shown well. Long aftertaste! I would suggest to store this wine for 5 years minimum - it will be unique after! Big cheers!
