Strawberry, vanilla, oak and cedar. Light to medium bodied but acid enough. Velvety tannins. Enjoying this in out garden, as a reward to how well we’ve done with it. I got this wine in 2023 when we visited the Torres wine yard in Penedès, and it was worth saving it for a while

Marimar Estate - Don Miguel Vineyard Cristina Pinot Noir 2019 A Russian River - Sonoma PN,16 M in 50% new French oak, 50% in 1-2 yr old oak. I´ve had this before remember I really liked it. I had to reconfirm & my god it reconfirmed it & then some! Oak vanilla caramel clove, sweet tobacco black cherry raspberry, cranberry silk anis minerals. Finish of strong concentrated fruit, balance, beautiful silky texture & so Parker-esque. Not for the oak-phobic acidity-loving wine drinkers, it´s simply too delicious. 95p

Silky Russian River Valley Pinot! 👌🍷 I served on a peacekeeping mission with the Swedish army during the war in former Yugoslavia in the 1990s and last weekend I hung out with a few of the boys. Medium garnet in the glass. Cherry & red currant underpinned by smoky spice and cedar. Palate is silky and textured—fleshy fruit meets creamy tannins, slight tart acidity. Gentle mocha and toast mid-palate, leading into a long, refined finish with a juicy sweet note.

Not really opened nose, much better on the palate, in line with the classic PN from the Russian River Valley CA. Smooth tannin, great fruity character, round, warm, complex and surprisingly lingering. Cherry, sour cherry, ripe plum, and dark fruit are predominant, afterwards delicate aromas of rose petal and violet, mushroom and very very subtle vanilla / oak notes come through. Drinking this wine is as easy as great is the pleasure.

Really delicious. Can't tell what the dominant fruit is, but it's dominant. Rich dark and slightly baked and candied. Hints of white pepper and other spices and really fresh and balanced in the mouth. Worth trying again as it could be a 4.7.
