Losada Vinos de Finca presenta su exquisito Losada Godello 2021, un vino blanco de alta calidad con Denominación de Origen Bierzo. Este vino se origina en las selectas parcelas de viñedo de Godello ubicadas en los pintorescos pueblos de San Lorenzo y San Esteban de Valdueza, a una elevación de 600 metros sobre el nivel del mar.

El proceso de elaboración incluye una maceración prefermentativa de 8 horas, seguida de una crianza sobre lías finas durante 5 meses. Esta crianza se lleva a cabo en un 70% en depósitos de acero inoxidable y un 30% en barricas usadas de 500 litros de roble francés.

First off the white Godello grape is making a come-back from almost fading away into extinction. It was revived by a small group of Spanish growers who gave it another chance. Well done I’d say! I find it to be quite similar to the Riesling in overall taste but that depends on the winemaker’s skills. It’s a lighter gold colour with fairly fragrant nose and full flavoured body texture and quite tart green apple, pear and more of an apricot taste. A live acidity and demands another glass please!

Lets go to Spain! A new grape to me Godello. This pours a clear pale gold with thin legs. The nose clean and interesting. Medium plus intensity aromas of green apple, lemon lemon zest, stone, honey and oak. Clearly developed. The mouth dry, medium plus acidity, medium alcohol medium plus body and finish. The mouth tastes are plenty. Hint of banana. Honey, abaked apple and a hint of saline stone. Overall this is very balanced and a very good offering drinking now.

Delicious Godello. Not as memorable as El Zarzal but very nice. This varietal hardly leaves Spain, so lucky to have it here. Salt, wet rock, soil after the rain, green lemon. El Zarzal was airy and transparent, sharp, a true marvel. This Losada has more ground, more earthy a bit more viscous and modest. Still lovely.

Well - I am fond of northern Spanish whites and this is a good example of the Godello grape. It is a very decent wine for a good price (High QPR). Hints of stony minerals, lime, tropical fruits, yellow apple and a very delicate freshness. Nice long tongue in the glass and a medium body. This wine has also good critics from leading wine professionals. I do hope more people discover Spanish white wines.
