Beautiful pinot noir enjoyed at Mi Niña Lola overlooking the hills of Malaga. Somm explained the winery does not make for profit - can taste the extra sun, much fruitier than a Burgundy PN. Not too much oak and some sour cherry and a bit of minerality with good strong tannins

WineCup 🍷 🏆 Season 2 Grp A 🇪🇸 vs 🇳🇿 Wine 6 of 12. My curveball thrown last night. Spanish Pinot Noir, I’m certain nobody expected it 🤣 and indeed nobody did. Honestly if it was me tasting blind and told 🇪🇸 v 🇳🇿, I prolly wouldn’t have had my money on 🇪🇸 PN too 😂 Yes Spain makes Pinot Noir and this is a pretty decent one! With more airtime in glass, black tea develops and the structure shines. Relatively pronounced nose but not entirely fruit forward. 900m asl and great acidity.
