Very good. Lots of red fruits, with subtle spice. This medium body was a relatively straight forward Grenache expression from Commando G as the price point suggests.

2024 Vintage Trying this producer for the first time. And somehow this was my new ✅️RS#241. Pale/med Ruby color. Fresh cranberry, raspberry, touch of oak characters, but not much. Iron, minerality, crushed rock, and savory-ness. Very fresh on the palate as well. Good balance and has pretty smooth mouthfeel. I thought tannin was gonna show, but it was managed well. Definitely drank very young and age will develop this one much better. Still loved it~ Body : M Acidity : M+ Tannin : M-~M Finish : M~M+

A **100% Garnacha** from Navatalgordo in the Sierra de Gredos, DO Cebreros. From roughly 60-year-old vines at around 1,050–1,100m on very stony granite/quartz soils Only 5,246 thanks to April frost. Pale, aromatic, high-acid Garnacha — red cherry, wild strawberry, violets, granite/rock, herbs and a subtle savoury/spicy edge. Medium-bodied, silky but with slightly grainier, more rustic tannins. Fresh with mineral tension. Young but very enjoyable now thanks to controlled large oak and concrete.

94-95+/100. Another day, another Comando G. I'm exploring some of the recent Comando G wines again, ready for the 2025 vintage to arrive in Nov. This vintage shows a marked improvement for both the Villanueva and this wine over the 2023 iteration. Nose is showing some Tamboril character, which is unsurprising, Italian herbs, red and purple fruits, lavender, and liquid granite. Lovely weight on the palate, creamy and a little electric. Smooth tannins. The granite energy is so awesome. What will the 2025 be like?!

(17-/20) Wow, super characterful Garnacha. Not the giving or sultry style we often see, but strict and bit tight even. And surprisingly, this was served with lobster! Medium intense aromas of violet, blackcurrant, blackberry, black plum, black pepper, liquorice wood, quinine, wet iron, flint, smoke, cold coffee, wet earth. Dry wine, medium acidity, medium+ and fine-grained tannins, full body, pronounced flavour intensity, long finish. 14% ABV - served @ O&O*

Very delicious easy drinking Garnacha. Would absolutely buy again. Colour. Pale garnet. Nose. Wild strawberry, cherry, ash, sour cherry, oak, vanilla. Taste. Dry, high acid and alcohol, smooth tannins, med body, med plus fruit intensity with some extra tartness: cranberry, sumac, sour cherry and a long finish. Excellent wine.

Very fresh and lifted, full of crushed strawberry, rose petal, spice and that stone and minerals edge you get from Sierra de Gredos garnacha. Perfumed and elegant rather than heavy, but still with enough richness through the mid palate before a slightly darker chocolate note appears on the finish. 45min in the decanter opens it up nicely.

Splendid stuff from the great Comando G! I discovered this winery some years back in a tasting with a couple of the "grand cru" wines from them. Ridiculous wines but the "village" wines aren't half bad either. High altitude (1100 meters) garnache from Gredos. Made in a transparent and elegant style. Lovely stuff. Perfumed floral, sous bois nose. On the palate light, bright, pure and clean. Crunchy red fruit, lovely light funk and herbal finish.
