Comando G El Hombre Bala Albillo Real 2024

El Hombre Bala Albillo Real 2024 es un vino blanco seco de la D.O. Vinos de Madrid, elaborado por Comando G, un proyecto nacido en 2010 de la mano de los viticultores Fernando García y Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi en colaboración con Vila Viniteca. Su filosofía se basa en recuperar y poner en valor viñedos antiguos, elaborando vinos con identidad y carácter, ideales para quienes buscan comprar vino online con autenticidad.

Para esta añada, las uvas de Albillo Real se vendimiaron de forma ligeramente temprana, entre el 7 y el 12 de agosto, con el objetivo de preservar frescura y evitar excesos de madurez. La elaboración apuesta por un perfil más preciso, con una crianza de estilo reductivo. El vino envejece sobre sus lías en barricas y fudres, aportando complejidad y textura.

Con un contenido alcohólico moderado del 13%, este vino muestra equilibrio y elegancia. La producción es limitada, con solo 5.200 botellas, y fue embotellado en junio de 2025, consolidándose como una propuesta exclusiva dentro de la región.

#BoT24 Uvas Felicas Visit 1 of 9 50yo Albillo vines at “only” 850m. Fermented in neutral foudre. 6 month lees (no battonage) Stone fruit, wax, lees, salt, white pepper. Lots of complexity. Wish it had more shape and length to deliver with emphasis. We tasted a large handful of Albillo before we visited Gredos and many on tour. I’m pretty convinced it’s not a variety I love.

Decant wine, depth and very tidy job. Albillo Real is just a tough grape. Even from old vines and in the hands of master it is not very generous. Quite shy. Minerals, yellow apple, citrus, banana, cinnamon, pomelo, grapefruit. Crushed chalk, not much of fruit. Medium body, medium acidity.

Stopped off at a wine bar facing the St Mary of the sea church in Barcelona, this was one the specials on the board. Nice mineral, fresh straw on the nose. The same mineralisation came through on the palate along with a touch of lemon zest, acid, some subtle white stone fruits. Was a pleasant drop, the location was better.

Madrid wine was made by Uvas Felices with the collaboration of the famous Comando G. 100% Albillo, 2023. White flowers, melons, pears, and minerality. Full body and oily texture. Low accidity, which is typical for this veriety. It was one of the best albillo wines I tried. Though, still not my favourite style.

Floral blossoms, honeydew melon, jalapeño and underripe pear. Full-bodied, oily stuff; I gather from @Riaan that they pick early and have other techniques to keep the acidity taut enough to avoid flabby-ville. This got better in the glass as it warmed up, reflecting more complexity. First time I’ve gone Comando white. (They found a few old Albillo vines in between all that abandoned Garnacha)

Made of 100% Albillo coming from old bush vines in the Madrid region, this white wine is an ideal candidate for an MW exam: nobody will recognise it. It’s not as vibrant nor as interesting as its red counterpart that I had a couple of months ago, but still an original and likeable wine. It needs time and air and it gets better once it’s slightly warmer than the fridge temperature. Citrus, apple, quince, a strong mineral undertone with a herbal touch. A decent low-intervention wine.
