После ручного сбора виноград ферментируют раздельно в чанах из нержавеющей стали. Сорт Tempranillo выдерживают в бочках из американского дуба, а Mazuelo — в бочках из французского дуба в течение 34 месяцев, после чего их смешивают и оставляют еще на 20 месяцев в бетонных резервуарах.

A privilege to taste this one side by side with a Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva. Perfumed nose which improved with some aeration. So much to smell and taste. I love the more lean and acidity in this Ygay. Sour cherry with green herbs like thyme, some spices from oak and smooth but present tannins. Enormous length. Delicious with mushroom risotto. Still young but so delicious.

93-94+/100. Tim Atkin Best of Rioja tasting. Selective with wines tasted on the eve. Didn't think I was going to be able to taste Ygay at this tasting, so this was a nice surprise. Very intense and focused. Beautiful red fruits, herbs, oak, and earthy notes. Easy to drink now but can see ageing for a long time.

Rioja Rockstar! I have enjoyed several older vintages in the past. My first go at 2012 and it doesn’t disappoints. Boom! Deep Garnet*. Dried berries with cranberry, blackberry, oak, leather, vanilla. Developing well. Dry, medium+ body, dancing effortlessly, just about high alcohol with 14% but no drama of course. A gentle tannic grip that reinforce a healthy structure. Fresh acidity. Flavours are transitioning slowly. Still fruit freshness, but also earthy minerals and dried flowers and chocolate. Fantastic!
