Alvaro Palacios 🇪🇸 wine dinner at Spanish restaurant Binomio. Wine 4. This is Garnacha dominant(ard 74% iirc) from Priorat, with around 25% Carinena and I believe 1% white grapes. Still elegant but with more vibrancy, slightly less floral than its Rioja counterpart. Violet, red cherries, red berries, clove, some cedar. This is considered a “village” level wine with grapes from multiple sites in Gratallops. Pretty nice. I guess it’s clear Alvaro really loves red wines over white 😂

Priorat #3 in a row. 90 minutes open; a bit milder than the previous 2. Raspberry nose with other red fruit, vanilla, light tobacco, leather, oak & a floral touch. Red currant. Raspberry. Vanilla. Leather. Thickens well. Big acid. Finish includes cedar, cocoa, leather, stewed red fruit & oak. Very solid, and QPR is appropriate. As Cs says, “Drink More Priorat!”.
