The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from selected organically certified vineyards in the municipality of Gratallops. This terroir imparts the distinctive character and identity of the region to the wine.

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in oak vats, followed by a 28-day maceration. The wine is aged for 14 months in oval foudres and bocoyes, retaining a touch of natural carbon dioxide for protection.

Alvaro Palacios 🇪🇸 wine dinner at Spanish restaurant Binomio. Wine 4. This is Garnacha dominant(ard 74% iirc) from Priorat, with around 25% Carinena and I believe 1% white grapes. Still elegant but with more vibrancy, slightly less floral than its Rioja counterpart. Violet, red cherries, red berries, clove, some cedar. This is considered a “village” level wine with grapes from multiple sites in Gratallops. Pretty nice. I guess it’s clear Alvaro really loves red wines over white 😂
