Same as last time, my friend bought a bottle too and wanted to open it. I had to drive home to get my fork opener as the cork is completely gone/soft. Wine is well alive, but time to drink now. Similar to my old TN, slightly earthy nose and herbs, cinnamon. Medium acidity, super soft and soft tannines. Vanilla, jammy, cocoa, liquorice.

Third wine of Vega Sicilia (neighbouring vineyards and difference cellar). Good balance between wood, fruit (blueberries jam, plum, dried apricot) and leather with some pepper. It evolved during the dinner and spicy notes became dominant with some licorice appearing.

Decanted for an hour ish. Great when paired with roasted lamb. The nose is defs there. Red fruit forward. Red cherries, good oak, bit of tobacco. Bit of hazelnut on the palate. Bold ruby colour. Medium body and finish. Tannins are gone. Definitely in the drinking window. Drink now, I think it’s fully mature. It won’t get any better. It’s like a nice aged version of Tempranillo.
