Blind tasting (see-through glass). Moderate aroma of overripe cantaloupe, petroleum, citrus, and green apple. This must be a Riesling. Since it's so typical I guess it's German. Quite strong flavour of cantaloupe, citrus zest, grapefruit, green apple, petroleum, and a slightly nutty background. Dry. High acidity. A bit sharper and greener finish than most German Rieslings, but I stick with my guess. The judge is partially satisfied.

Just a classic, well made Alsatian Riesling. Lemon, mineral driven, wet stone, green apple. Palate is austere and a touch chalky. Tons of malic acid tartness on it. Medium+ acid, medium finish. Simple and delicious.

A simple entry-level Riesling from Alsace, but that doesn't stop it from being delicious wine. Typical aromas of lemon, lime, white peach, honey and white flowers. High acidity, with a light body. Fully dry. Limestone minerality on the palate. Finish is quite short. Lovely crisp wine that pairs with just about anything. 4.0

Did a little side-by-side with an Eden Valley Riesling before a healthy sashimi night dinner. 🇦🇺🦐🦪🐙 White smoke, ginger, melon and lime on the nose with only a hint of varietal rubber. Lime and green apple on the palate with lean acidity and a long finish with great metallic minerality giving it good balance. Very well thought through with lots of complexity to consider with every sip. Capped off the night watching somm 2 and 3 with the wife. 🥂
