We were curious to see how this regular bottle of 2007 would fare after the double magnum 2012 vintage. Well, much better. Complex, very long. In addition to ripe fruit, leathery, animalic, and tobacco notes also emerge. The tannins are in place, not intrusive.

Served this blind to the boys, everyone was between Bordeaux (both sides) and Super Tuscan. Outstanding wine, and great value.

Delicious . Last bottle of this vintage in the cellar. Still plenty of life . Neck poured and a Short Decant. Primary blackcurrant , plum & blackberry , oak leading to tertiary vanilla , chocolate and leather . Sumptuous finish . Didn’t last long . Perfect with roast lamb and mint sauce .

My rating is close to the Vivino average, but I would probably have rated this much higher 5 years younger. Nice tertiary aromas, oaky, leathery and earthy nose with plums. Complex meditative stuff on the palate. Long finish. What a wonderful producer Roda is!

My favorite estate in Rioja: Roda! 100% Tempranillo. This 2007 has attractive and intense scents of leather, black cherries, plums and blackberries interwoven with peppery spice, cinnamon, dried rose petals, damp soil and coffee on the nose. Med-bodied and intense. Impressively complex on the palate with refreshing minerals and a lovely, fine freshness underneath. Cool that I have this one just a couple of days after my 06 repetition, because it’s interesting to see the oak is better integrated in this one than in the 06.👃🏻 Ripe dark fruit, like blackcurrants, blueberries, raspberries, followed by moist earth, chocolate and cinnamon.👅 Dense and mouth filling, yet rounded and perfectly balanced. Ruby color that still looks young. Quite rough on the nose just after opening. Decanted and then waited for 1-2 hours. Made all the difference. Beautiful mature bouquet of dark fruit, leather, oak. Medium+ body. Very smooth on the palate. Smooth mature tannins. Very balanced and elegant. An excellent wine with many years still in it but no point in waiting any longer.
