Samples from @[1|4177809|Raf De Leu]. What a treat this 21 year old Roda I reserva. Aged 16 months in French oak barriques. Deep garnet. Ver mature nose of red cherry, blackberry, prune, fig, licorice, sweet spices, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, tar, leather, mushroom, forest floor, lavas. Dry, medium acidity, medium soft tannins, pronounced intensity, full body, long finish. Outstanding wine, complex and long, this sample appeared more developed than other recent TNs I read.

Dinner @ home. Steak Rosini served with this 21y old gem gifted by my buddy @Tom N.! What a marvelous gem, best vintage I've had so far but at this stage, the 2007 is even better imo as that one has some aging & maturity notes while this '04 is still fresh as hell with lots of fruit. This is build to last for many more decades. We have a bunch of ripe blmack fruit with black cherries, brambles and plumms mixed with balsamic red cherry acids, oak influences with sweet spices and tobacco folowed by ⤵️⤵️⤵

Lovely deep garnet in the glass. Dark with a sweet twist on the nicely developed nose which has layers of complexity from aromas of blackberry, vanilla, cedar, and dark chocolate seamlessly combined with wet stone, forest floor and grilled meat. Incredible, intense palate with beautiful freshness where some dried fruit notes come through. Very long, savoury finish with a dusting of black pepper. Beautiful now but will continue to age gracefully. WSET notes in comments.

Exceptional wine from 30 yr old bush vines and a great year in Rioja. 100% Tempranillo without filtering. Fermented in French oak with 16months in barrique and 20 in the bottle. On the nose black cherry, black fruit, tobacco and spices. On the palate rich dark fruit, plum, with earthy notes and pepper on the full finish. Smooth tannins with a full body and high acidity.
