Psi 2021 Magnum

Psi 2021, un distinguido vino tinto de la Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, es producto de la maestría del reconocido ingeniero agrónomo y enólogo Peter Sisseck, quien ostenta renombre como uno de los enólogos más destacados de España. La pequeña bodega Dominio de Pingus, bajo su dirección, se dedica a la creación de vinos excepcionales, destacando por su enfoque artesanal y producciones limitadas, lo que permite dedicar especial atención a la elevada calidad del producto final.

La añada 2021 incorpora alrededor de un 8% de Garnacha, aportando una dimensión adicional a la estructura y frescura del vino. En esta cosecha, Peter Sisseck decidió dar un paso más allá, adquiriendo directamente viñedos antiguos de los que antes compraba únicamente la uva. Este cambio marca un hito en la consolidación del proyecto, centrado en viñas viejas de cultivo tradicional.

Con una producción de 349.000 botellas y varios formatos de gran tamaño, Psi 2021 fue embotellado en julio de 2023. Es un vino de perfil expresivo, equilibrado y con gran potencial de guarda, ideal para acompañar carnes a la brasa, platos de cuchara o disfrutar en momentos especiales. I probably didn’t let this decant enough, but the flavors pop anyway. This is an almost perfectly balanced wine - the fruit notes (plum, cherry, and black raspberry) are excellently matched by savory notes: a good whiff of pepper on the nose, with iron and granite on the palate (as well as oaky notes), perhaps even with a hint of wet leaves. Nice long finish as well. Great wine!

Love this wine. Excelent price value. Rich, deep and concentrated with aromas of blackberries, leather, oak, cherry and red fruit. Very nice length. The 2021 vintage showed beautifully and is very much enjoyable now. Also have 2023, which is a totally different vintage I’ll keep that in the cellar for a couple of years.

Dusty black cherry plum cocoa chocolate coconut husk and oak are strong which I guess comes from American oak. It can feel little hot and the alcohol not fully integrated but might be drinking this a tad young.

World Traveling Joe

The timeless steep hills and valleys to the Douro River with a Danish winemaker to built this spectacular wine. The color dark, intense and opaque. The aromas show violet and other deep purple floral, spicy grilled meat, rhubarb, and beet. The palate is rich with acidity, balanced and active. Flairs show an immediate sour cherry, pomegranate falling to cedar and earth. Typical to Douro Valley - the good wine need time. A long velvet red finish. Let it nap. Drink 2028+ if you can keep your hands off of it. Cheers!

Super nice red wine from Spain and one of the most prestigious vineyards. 14.5% ABV. Black cherry hue. Aromas of tobacco, savory, pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruit. Flavors of spicy pepper, licorice, sour cherry, green tobacco, dark chocolate. Velvety finish with tobacco and tart red fruit, medium ++acidity, cellar 2 + years. No bullshit Ribera. Forget the cult label hype. The 2021 PSI is Peter Sisseck getting his hands dirty in the old-vine trenches. It’s Tempranillo with a splash of Garnacha blackberry oak cherry plum that @ actually tastes like the dirt it came from. Lean, mean, and honest. Dark fruit and crushed rocks without the oak-bomb makeup. It’s got the Pingus DNA without the oligarch price tag. This is the juice you drink in a century’s old tavern to accompany a perfect oven cooked lechazo. It’s just damn good.

2021 vintage in 2025 - The cult producer embraces local old vine Tinto Fino here, bringing the revered lore of the Pingus name within reach of the proletariat. From last night's Grand Cru Society dinner event, theme of Tempranillo. Included wines from Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Toro. The final wine of the night was the second wine from Ribera del Duero, the 2021 PSI from producer Dominio de Pingus. There is 10% Grancha in this Tempranillo blend. The namesake Pingus from this producer is a unicorn wine I've never had, but the PSI is very nice.

Normal high quality cork. 14% alcohol. Greek letter Psi. Dark almost black garnet colour. Tears stick medium thick but long to the glas. Nose 👃 Black berries and baked black plums with vanilla, cardamom, cloves, sweet pipe tobacco, Swedish liquorice, laurel and piment. Mouth 💋 Well made and balanced bouquet of everything mentioned above. Good acidity and leaves me impressed! Great wine! Tannines are grippy and well integrated. Finish 🏁 Great. I love it! Definitely must buy again. 🆒️🇪🇸💪👍💕

I understand this wine. I get it. I didn’t initially love it but it grew on me. It evolved. The tannins died down. Went from a windy day to a summer breeze. Dark fruits. Black berries. Blue berries. I can get down with this wine. My close friend just told me he got engaged and picked this bottle to open to celebrate. I’m glad he did.

When you can’t afford Pingus 😉 This wine is ok when you let it shed some of the oak with aeration. 90% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha from calcareous soils. Delicate and balanced nose of blackberry, cherry, dried herbs, violet, dark roasted coffee. Palate is abundant with ripe black fruit and blueberry, vanilla, leather chocolate pepper, coffee with plenty of dust-like tannins. It wouldn’t be my go to Ribera wine but i would gladly revisit it in 5-10 years.

Deep ruby purple in color with a nose of black fruit, oak spice, violets. Tastes of black cherry, mulberry, black plums with sour cherry arriving later. Notes of earthiness, oak spice, mineral notes. Tart, balanced acidity. 90% Tempranillo and 10% Grenache, sourced from old vines and aged up to 16 months in French oak barrels. Medium in body with a moderately lengthy finish. Consider pairing with cheesy beef stroganoff.
