The Gloger

The Pintia is certainly one of the beat wines of Vega Sicilia. This one - even being you g - was different. Maybe the aging was accelerated. But it was delicious. Very balanced. Powerful body, tannins but already soften and smooth for the age. It can certainly get better. Long finish. High acidity and delicious tastes and wromas of oak chocolate plum black fruit smoke and licorice

Great deep garnet this tinta de toro Tempranillo. Early vanilla oak, dark fruits (blackberries and plum) and tobacco and vanilla notes. Full bodied, but smooth on palate very fruity with medium acidity and tannins with prolonged aftertaste. Excellent with paella and roasted pork.

4.6/5. Opened a bottle because I could! Very good wine from the Ribiera del Duero, that gives Vega a run for its money in good years. This is obviously one of those years. Very concentrated flavors of black plums, red currants, blackberries, tar & black cherries. Super long finish.

Dark opaque red colour, full bodied. On nose, rich fruity with black fruits, vanilla, chocolate and oaky aromas. On palate, first sip with a bit spice, dark chocolate, mocha, raisin and leather taste.. Excellent wine after decant for 5 hours.. Well balanced structure with silky smooth texture, mildly acidity and moderate tannins.. my first Toro wine and i will looking to try more Toro wine.. 4.6/5⭐️ 👍🏻👍🏻

My last ‘13, Vega Sicilia started purchasing Toro vineyards in 1997 but didn’t release Pintia until ‘01 after perfecting their style. 100% Tinta de Toro, thick-skinned clone of Tempranillo, beautiful color, complex aromas of fruit & spice. Aged, 13 months, French & American oak. Intense aromas, notes of cedar & berry fruits. On the palate intense fresh dark berry fruit flavors with oak notes, well balanced with acidity. Complex tannins, long finish ending with elegant fruit finesse & touch of earthy tones.

Quarantine nights. Been hold this one for 2 years but figured it would be a great follow up to the Musar Blanc. Composed, structured and inviting nose of ripe dark fruit, sweet oak, dry tobacco leaves, dark chocolate, vanilla extract, old leather, dry soil and smoke. Flexing some tannins I’m the palate and yet it’s still quite quaffable and refreshing. Long and persistent finish. Beautiful wine to pair with filet mignon.

Absolutely loved this. Didn’t take tasting notes at the time of enjoying it - but man oh man - it was sublime. Incredible body and flavours. Liquid Velvet in your mouth. So good that the bottle can be enjoyed exceptionally quickly. I must explore more of other vintages. Highly recommended!!
