Little #1 bday wine. A bit of VA and reduction on the nose. Red fruit, raspberry, red cherry, blueberry, red licorice, oregano, chocolate, tobacco, licorice, cigar and leather. Dried leaves. Smooth in delivery. Medium+ acid and tannins that you need to go searching for. Well balanced and focussed in structure. As I think about it, this wine deserves a little more. Exceptionally well put together. Long finish with lingering tertiary components. Medium++ intensity. Outstanding.

I suspect that anyone who rated this wine lower than I did simply did not decant it for long enough. It is a lovely, powerful line that needs at least two or three hours to unwind. It needs a long decant before it comes to its full potential. We had it with a couple of lamb dishes and my wife and I were both delighted.

It presents heady scents of black raspberries, kirsch, tilled soil, cherry cola, star anise , rose oil and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is full- bodied , ripe muscular but at the same time elegant. Despite its power, the wine appears surprisingly feminine and playful, it delivers flavors of blueberries, dark cherries, licorice and herbal garrigue, leading to a sumptous, mineral- scented finale!

Med-bodied yet energetic, it carries impressive finesse, balance and length, combining freshness with depth and concentration. Great wine! 1 day of air necessary.

„Iberia Grand tasting” at K&L wines SF. What a great Priorat, that can be even named priorat due to strict appellation criteria (alcohol level at 12.5% abv, below the required 13.5). I really liked this one, tastes like an aged wine while at just 3 years.
