Fruit from a vineyard in Madrid DO. Lower altitude and warmer than the wines from the Gredos Mountians (e.g. Comando G). This is still a lean and crunchy wine, but the fruit is a bit darker and much more spicy than something like the Rumbo. Not quite as ethereal as the top Gredos wines, not even the 4 Monos which is much closer in price than something like Rumbo. However, still a pretty amazing wine. Certainly way better than the V avg suggests. Red fruit. Mint. Herb. Dusty. Crunchy. Crushed rock. Dark finish.

Garnacha 100%. Only 1900 bottles were made, single vineyard, old vines (50 years+). Whole bunch fermentation, 12 months in used French oak barrels. Red and black fruits, herbs, cherry color, medium acidity, perfectly balanced. A bit young, drink now or keep.

Hurry Up And Wait (Stereophonics) When I get thirsty (or bored) on a Sunday afternoon I usually open a light red and this 100% Garnacha was a real stunner! A nose full of berries, balsamic and minerals. A mouth full of black fruit, dried strawberries and herbs. And a long, lingering finish. I got this bottle as a present so I was intrigued, so on further investigation I found out this wine got +90 scores all over, the grapes are from an organic vineyard and it’s about 20 euros! What are you waiting for?
