Happy Tempranillo Tuesday! Live drinking tonight with this Crianza from RdD. Blend of 89/11 Tempranillo/CS. Beautiful nose of cherry, blackberry, leather, dark chocolate and vanilla. The palate is similar but a bit simpler than the nose. Medium-full bodied, medium tannins, dry and medium acidity. Medium+ length finish. I usually prefer to go with Reserva than Crianza in Spain, but I must admit this one was good. Not sure this 2016 will improve much from here though…

I wouldn't call it Jesus, but this is fair wine for the price. Cinnamon, pepper, blackberry and vanilla. I recommend this for daily usage. Or with your cousin's wifes or something. I ate fish with it, but the fish started to drink it, so I guess its a good sign. Don't worry, I ate the fish after. This wine is now now part of the food chain. Maybe the grapes will eat me? This is why we need to pray for Jesus I guess. Hence the name. /Cheers

Really enjoyed this wine. As a fan of Douro reds, I purchased this one to give it a try. Taste is similar to Douro (also mostly Tempranillo), but the 11% Cab in this wine has proven to be a wonderful idea. Give this time to open. Try on day two (or three if you can resist finishing the bottle!). Salud!

A RdD that's a bit special here, in a region so dedicated to Tempranillo 🍇 89% Tempranillo, 11% CS. 12m in oak, 75% Fr & 25% Am oak. 6m in bottle. Reduced, soy sauce, sage, umami, salty earth. With time more cherry, blackberry, plum compote, interesting mix. Medb+, m+ acid, m+ dense tannins, but fine. Tad closed, m+ fruity but acidulous finish. Still tight. 4.0+ 14% abv.
