Quite fun! Very perfumed nose of violet, pot pourri. Palate has notes of tart cranberry, sour cherry, with a slightly saline finish. Tart acidity, barely any tannins at all.

I like this red from Rias Baixas. Not my first red from this region and not the best to be honest but it's nice. Lots of cherry, sour cherry, liquorice, compote, a medicinal/eucalyptus hint & smoky notes. Superbly dry palate with more of the cherry, red berry theme. Dry tannins though not aggressive with a medium light finish. 3.7🌟

Another lovely bottle from Frontonio's wine club. 'Tintos de mar', a statement of intent from Rodrigo Méndez who focuses on the indigenous reds of Rías Baixas, challenging the notion that Galicia is a land of whites. This is a blend of caiño, espadeiro, loureiro tinto and souson. Granite soils, neutral barrels. Tart raspberries, pomegranate with some pith, mediterranean herbs, damp earth and pebble beach. Vibrant, 12.5% ABV, structured, medium bodied. Just ripe enough. I like lean reds and I think this is great.

Blend of equal amounts of local red grapes; Caino, Espadeiro and Loueiro, Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, herb, floral and cigar box notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Nice, will continue to age.

On the palate, it’s med-bodied yet tensile, driven by vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins. A salty mineral red blend from rias baixas. On the nose, wood, raisin, raspberry stone black olive sour plums. The body is light and tannins are low. It has a refreshing acidity with minerality almost like salt hints. Intense raspberry, red fruit, raisin, black olive, olive tapenade. Smooth and discreet finish minerality and some red fruit.
