Classic La Chapelle style. Structured yet soft. Fruit, spice and a gorgeous savoury presence. Love the tapenade, bay leaves and soy. Just so damn Rhoney - delicious and comforting. Not as long lived as I may have thought. I associate La Chapelle w long haul and also 2015 is supposed to be a holder. This unfurled beautifully in glass, and didn't give me signals to lay for another decade. Not complaining though!

(17-/20) Difficult wine. Extremely rich style. Very oaked, quite alcoholic, but so much concentration and length too. Feels like a baby still. Deep, inky, refined, complex palate; a lovely mix of dark berries, vanilla extract, smoky tobacco, leather, licorice, and black pepper. Long finish, meaty mid, gripping entry. Nose of leathery tobacco, boysenberry, pepper, and mint.

Without a doubt a lovely Rhone Syrah. Tasted alongside some big Aussie shiraz at DM MP opening. Probably did it no favours as it was almost too easy to drink and didn’t show the complexity of the other wines. You can see the quality and I’d drink this all day and night…but the QPR isn’t there in Aus for this..
