Good wine that needs few more years to settle. Currently it feels too much - high fruit concentration, ripe red fruit, black fruit, black cherry, plum, blackberry, blueberries. Oak, vanilla, tobacco, clove & chocolate. Herbs like bay leaf, mint, fennel, pepper. Dry, high acidity, high alcohol,med+ tannins, full body. High intensity and long finish. Just give it 5-7 years to relax.

Gorgeous wine. Nose has dark red fruit, yet fresh and lively. Lots of secondaries here… leather, smoke, cigar box, some minerality like clay or wet stone. Herbs… maybe tarragon? Well balanced pallet refreshing medium / medium + acidity is well balanced with smooth tannins. I think the stems may have been in the pressing. Very smooth drinking. For me, the dominant flavor notes are fresh black cherries and herbs. Really good bottle.

This is WOW! The wine making here has been fine tuned since the 2016. This 2020 blows me away! Ripe cherry, dried strawberry and orange peel. Black cherry, red plum, dusty raspberry, bits of minerals, & baking spices. Beautiful mouthfeel, well rounded, expansive and rich. Lovely, balanced acid, supple tannins. This bottle truly shows what Grenache, in the proper hands, can do. Update 10/2026 - greater depth of dark fruit, ripe raspberries, orange peel. Zippy acid with such balance. This just gets better with age!

100% Grenache from Clos Mogador but with the Montsant DO - really this is the entry level Espectacle. Quite basic on day 1, by day 2 this is a really good Grenache. This definitely sits on the edges of that floral, lifted style that Gredos has made its own. Still that Catalunyan depth in the background. Gets bad reviews on here but this is a great wine - just needs some space.
