Tasted at the winery in Santaney. Riper nose. Still has sulphur. But after time it has ripe plum and raspberry. Getting some mushroom and licorice. The palate has cranberry, toast and minerals. Long finish again, rather Oaky.

From a New World to an Old World PN kindly brought by @[1|13494435|Jason Hu]. We guessed PN easily and also Burgundy (stereotyping @[1|13494435|Jason Hu]) but didn’t get the appellation. I’m a Burg noob to be honest and usually associate Chassagne-Montrachet only with whites oops. Earthy, leather, mushroom and some cherry. My first CM Red! Thanks @[1|13494435|Jason Hu] for this rare find!

It is a round, fatty, powerful and opulent wine with an aromatic complexity! Medium ruby nose, medium intensity blueberry, radpberry, jam of plum and vanilla. The pleasure is also prolonged thanks to a very nice length in the mouth.

It is a bit rare to find a Chassagne-Montrachet that’s red these days. So this was a unique treat. Tasted blind, my thoughts went to late 90s Volnay. Raspberry, cranberry with tertiary aroma flavours of earth, mushroom. Savoury texture, balanced acidity and chalky tannins. A classic if not mind blowing Burgundy.

Wonderful wine. Hints of chocolate as you open the bottle with strong yet smooth tannic presence in the mouth. Flavors include berries, grapefruit, plum, with a very mineral background. Paired with glazed salmon, it was a good blend.

I actually grabbed this out of the fridge a bit quickly and in my head I thought I had a white wine. Oops. Anyway, was a good red, cherries and some herbs. A little earthy. Decent finish, well balanced acidity.
