The vineyard
The grapes are sourced from the Pegrandi vineyard in Marano di Valpolicella, situated at an altitude of 230 to 250 meters. The limestone and clay soils impart freshness and mineral character to the vines, which range from 10 to 40 years of age.
Winemaking
Following a manual harvest, the grapes undergo the traditional "appassimento" drying process on bamboo racks for over five months. After cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged for 40 months in large oak casks and refined for another 5 months in the bottle.
