While the initial hit placed it close to the apex of its existence, strangely enough it mellowed out much with decanter time and settled into a very tasty groove. Still a woody and earthy nose, leading into plum and red currant jam, and a touch of spice. Nice deep medium and mellow finish.

The palate reveals black and red cherries with fully integrated tannins, medium plus acidity, and a medium to full body. Enjoy! Day 2: The oak is evident today along with vanilla. Overall, wonderful wine especially for the price, $27. Note: The oak aroma didn't overwhelm the wine.

Closed on initial opening. Decanted and put it back in the bottle, in the fridge, for about 40 hours, and it’s excellently opened up. Deep ruby color. Nose of oak, cherry and vanilla. Full body, high tannins, high acid, but smooth, with dark fruit, cherry, oak, vanilla, anise, and cinnamon. Medium+ finish.
