Privileged to taste this fantastic Xarel-lo. Slightly oxidative with apricot, lime, pear and creamy. Elegant with tropical fruit, slight bitter, fresh acidity and a lingering finish. I had a glass during a fantastic tasting with friends while enjoying delicious finger food.

1Sept23 celebrating 22 years marriage. Wauuu what an amazing cava with 155 months aging in bottle. Bottle N.25 of 4317 bottles. It is 100% Xarelo and from wine yard dated 1940. Love it and very elegant slow bubbles 🍾 almost un noticed. Beautiful colour butter brioche, almond and some yellow apple elegant and smooth welll balanced. It beats several champagnes. Probably the best Spanish sparkling wine I've tried yet. 100% Xarel.lo from a single vineyard dating back to 1940 Med+ nose is refined, elegant, oxidised. Apple cider, white blossom, roasted hazelnuts, herbs, toast. Feels like it's on the way to becoming sherry like Pronounced plus palate, still quite fresh and acidic. It is delicately balanced with a layered complexity that possesses a creamy mousse and lingers freshly on the palate. Your sniff gets high summer apple blossom, grapefruit zest, Asian pear, cream, button mushrooms and buttery popcorn, which follows you to the palate. It was delightfully paired with the opening of the tasting menu at Cocina Hermanos Torres. World-Class!

Would never ever have thought it was possible but the amazing sky of nutty browned honey nougat butter that comes from this deep golden eyed hue is so sexy seductive...palate shows pastry apples apricot zesty candy browned sugar chocolate and smoky toasted notes as well in the long juicy mineral finish... wow 😲 👏 paired with all the crazy fish dishes at restaurant Zortziko Bilbao. 💯% Xarel-lo, disgorged dec 2009...
