I saw this flying by* and had to grab it 😄 Intense and developed (and very Mediterranean!) 👃 of pine resin, honey, roasted lemon and dried apple, and some petrol. The mouthfeel is really elegant. You don't feel the Brut Nature dosage. It's round and smooth, very autolytic, with a perfect mousse, creamy, very refined to a salty, sea breezy and bready, textured, chalky finish, maybe a tad limited in length. Shy with food, better on its own. Still real good, even if pricey. 92 11.5% abv, cork.

Really a unique wine shared with @[1|10076009|Gerold Rach] for his 75th birthday. Full bodied for a cava. Wood noted maybe oak? On the palate it’s fizzy and smooth. Vanilla and sweet apples. Very creamy and notes of light citrus.

Med+ intensity on the complex nose with smoke, flint, brioche, oak, honeycomb, roasted sesame and burnt rubber aromas. Dry, high acidity, low alcohol (11.5%), med+ body and a long finish. A very impressive Guarda Superior Gran Reserva.

What an impressive sparkling—wait, not Cava but Corpinnat! It already starts with that cone-shaped bottle, guaranteed to cause mild table drama without its stand… but wow, does it look cool. And the wine? Even better. Parker says 93+, Peñín goes all in with 95. A blend of 45% Macabeo, 35% Parellada, 20% Xarel·lo, aged an epic 84 months on the lees. Ripe apple and pear on the nose, almonds, pastry, gentle toast. Creamy, complex, with a stunning mousse. Absolutely top of the game.

It’s curved base means you can’t really put it down on the table. Nice complexity and I enjoyed the long finish very much. 4.3 pts for me

A legendary and priced Cava with the classic blend of Macabeu, Xarel-lo and Parellada. Contrary to the most common Cava tradition it's Macabeu, and not Xarel-lo, playing the shining star in this wine. 60 months on its lees in the bottle before disgorgement. And speaking about the bottle. There is absolutely nothing common with the Kripta bottle. The amphora shaped bottle is patented and only used for this specific wine. Heavy on Macabeu it's a bit rounder than the usual Cava. However, it's great!

Sparkling Friday! What a Cava here… 8 yrs sur lattes, vintage 2011. 11,5% abv. 45/35/20 Macabeo 1962/ Parrellada 1968/Xarel-Lo 1972, yep old vines. Golden yellow/orange hue. Soft nose creamy, brioche, floral tones. Soft full mousse, gentle balanced, marzipan. Fully dry, no bitter, light oxidative, long finish. This is very high quality. 18 pts, brought by @Maarten Eekels.
