A dry white wine from D.O. Rías Baixas produced by the Mar de Frades winery. It features balsamic and saline aromas, notes of white flowers, tropical fruits, and a subtle hint of toasted bread.

The vineyard

The grapes come from Finca Valiñas, a single vineyard with old Albariño vines planted in 1975 on well-drained sandstone and granite soils. Located at 127 meters above sea level, the site benefits from the unique microclimate of Val do Salnés.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

After manual selection, the grapes undergo cold maceration to preserve fresh aromas. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is followed by two years of aging on fine lees with regular batonnage to enhance texture and body.

Alba time, poured by @[1|3334973|Brυnο]! Had this one before from 2.5y ago by @gino, loved it back then, so happy I can try it again with some more age! Opening with a nice mixture of tropical fruit with a little candy effect mixed with a bunch of salty, flinty minerals, tiny gasoline whiff, lemons, herbs with fennel and a slice of green apple. The palate is slightly filming yet fresh & lemony with nice Granny accents slicing through surrounded by a bunch of salty minerals while ending lingering with salted ⤵️⤵️⤵️

Enjoyed a bottle for a lazy afternoon by the sea and another white wine wednesday entry. 𝐋a Trucha, being 𝐋-week and all 100% single varietal albariño On the nose pineapple, citrus, honey, florals and peach. Aromatic. On the palate pineapple, minerals, pear and lime. Refreshing with a nice acidity Weak spot for Rías Baixas and their albariño for summer days. Had it together with some fish and seafood soup which worked as a charm. 4,1⭐️

Pours clear green golden. Aroma of ripe green apples, fried lemon, honey, honeysuckle, a bit grass. Great, slightly bitter grapefruit flavor in front, more ripe apples, gooseberries and lemon later. Medium+ acidity, good balance. Good medium+ aftertaste. Good pairing with a creamy salmon soup.
