Envínate Benje Blanco 2024

A dry white wine made from the Listán Blanco grape variety, produced in the D.O.P. Islas Canarias by the Envínate winery. It offers a delicate aromatic profile with notes of dried flowers and grains, complemented by a distinct minerality and freshness on the palate.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Listán Blanco
  • D.O. / Region: D.O.P. Islas Canarias
  • Winery: Envínate
  • Soil / Altitude: Volcanic soils, slopes of Santiago del Teide
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: Partial aging in concrete tanks and French oak foudres

The vineyard

The grapes originate from small parcels of old vines located on the slopes of Santiago del Teide on the island of Tenerife. These vines grow in volcanic soils and are cultivated using traditional methods, without chemical treatments and entirely by hand.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks and old French oak foudres. A portion of the wine undergoes skin contact, while another develops a layer of flor, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Why buy it

If you are looking for a dry white wine with an Atlantic character and a clear volcanic identity, this is an excellent addition to your cellar. Its artisanal, low-intervention production preserves the pure expression of the terroir. You can buy Envínate Benje Blanco 2024 online directly from our shop to experience its unique depth and texture.

I usually like Canary whites a lot but this didn't convince me as much. Green apple, preserved lemon, flint, fiercely mineral. Dry with a lean and crisp body and high acidity. So the pieces are all there. But it doesn't quite come together on the palate and the strong sulphur notes didn't dissipate enough in glass even over two nights.

Lemon, soft nose, decent balance, big Apple, not as saline rich as I would like. complexity is lacking.

Incredible opening with lemon, lime, raw honey, and distinct campfire smoke, followed by a cooling herbal spice and savory umami. The mid-palate is on the leaner/hollow side, but it leads to a very long, clean, and salty finish. Unique volcanic profile with electric energy!

Don't know what is it with me but I do love the 23 vintage. Last time was at a wedding so now more cabin dinner setting. Had some more rounded creaminess and lovely food pairing with anchovy pasta. Otherwise same.

A pale golden color. The nose bursts with green apple, preserved lemon, dry flowers, and a distinct smoky, flinty edge from volcanic soils. On the palate, it is lean, linear, and fiercely mineral, boasting incredible tension, high natural acidity, and a subtle mealy texture from lees aging. The finish is savory, saline, and tightly wound with a whisper of almond bitterness. A highly focused and uncompromising volcanic white.

Lovely! Clear pale yellow. Aromas like minerals and granite, saline flavours. Buts also lingering citrus. Dry, very high acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol full body. flavours pronounced and nice long finish. Lovely

Great white from Evinate. Citrus, green apple, volcanic ash and saline. Racing acidity and well balanced wine. Really good QPR.

Envinate masterclass at Le Pont Milsons Point, limited TN. Great interest for entry level, just into 4.1 on drinking pleasure. Citrus, saline minerality, wild herbs, real presence to it with good length to boot. Grapefruit, nutty/almond tones too. Plenty to take in.

Served blind by a somm friend. Definitely contemporary: lean and light, oxi, edgy... and so drinkable 🤓😎 Hazy deep gold colour. Quite an aged and oxi nose, first a little difficult, with vinegar, bread and walnut, then honey, dried flowers, ripe apricot and citrus rind. Much fresher on the palate, super bright acid but balanced and smooth, lingering, citrussy, salty, nutty and aerial. Top food wine. 90 12% abv, wax-sealed cork.

Less wild and reductive than previous vintages. Yellow fruit, apple, pear. Faint salty notes. Fresh and crisp driven by its acidity. No sous voile in this vintage.
