After-party of Domaine Frey dinner at Nicolas 2.0 with Delphine Frey, hosted by Pierrick’s new venture Vibrant Wines Blind by Ming just as I was about to get into the cab, bit of an emotional moment getting a chance to try this blind. Stone fruit profile that’s slightly ripe, lots of vigour, but super balanced against structural acid and minerality. Still round with cream and white flower notes. Good tension maintained to strike a harmonious balance. Still quite young / tight and subdued, tons of potential.

Moderate reduction and excellent minerality. The acidity and minerality are just insane. It shows better than the 2020 Genevrières. A clear victory for the vintage. 12.6% ABV. - 97

Offering up notes of lime oil, tart Anjou pear, peach kernels and sesame that are delicately framed by touch of new oak. Is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with more texture and a denser, displaying considerable extract and a long, stony finish.

Caramel popcorn. Smokey, intense character. Hint of wiskey, lemon candy. Hinoki wood. Rich and concentrated. Silky texture and nice roundness. Cream caramel and lemon tart. - 98

OMG, what a village wine. Lime, grapefruit, stone and minerals. Oak already well integrated. Hits the palate just like a typical Meursault. Absolutely insane intensity, with a never ending finish. Best white wine I’ve tasted to date. 96p

Such a lovely dark golden color. I still don’t understand CD but it’s very distinctive; it’s unlike many Chardonnay that I’ve tasted. It’s a real treat nonetheless.

A trio of 2010 Coche Dury, part of my www.pulignyfirst.com quarterly vintage tastings. The article on the 2010s will come out soon and both the vintage and Coche Duries lived up to their lofty reputations.
