Arzuaga Fan D.Oro 2024

This dry white wine from V.T. Castilla y León is a single-varietal Chardonnay crafted by the prestigious Arzuaga Navarro winery. It offers a creamy texture balanced by refreshing acidity, with aromas of baked apple, nuts, and subtle pastry notes.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Chardonnay
  • D.O. / Region: V.T. Castilla y León
  • Winery: Arzuaga Navarro
  • Soil / Altitude: Clay-limestone, 911 m altitude
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: 9 months in French oak barrels

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from the La Planta estate, situated at an altitude of 911 meters in Quintanilla de Onésimo. The clay-limestone soils with bedrock close to the surface provide the vines with unique freshness and minerality.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Following a manual harvest, the must ferments in 500-liter French oak barrels. The wine is aged for nine months in these barrels with light lees stirring to enhance its body and complexity.

Why buy it

This white wine is an excellent choice for those who appreciate structured, full-bodied wines. Its gastronomic versatility makes it a perfect match for both rich fish dishes and white meats. If you wish to enhance your cellar, you can buy Arzuaga Fan D.Oro 2024 online directly from our shop.

Just what I was looking for! Oaky and creamy full bodied golden white wine. A tad too sweet after some time but might have been because of the temp

The second-to-last day of 2025. Rare guest in my glass - white from Valladolid which is one of core provinces in Ribera del Duero, 🇪🇸. 100% Chardonnay, 2023 vintage. 20+y old vines. Aged in French oak barrels for 9m. Quite moderate med intense aromas of ripe quince, apples, bit of honey, citrus nuances. Already decently balanced and pleasantly quaffable youthful Chard, well integrated vivid medium acidity, uncomplicated easy going palate. Delicious notes of ripe 🍋, pineapple, minerals, apples, yellow currants.

Tasted in Valladolid, pours gold with pronounced oak on the nose along with pear, straw and nuts. On the tongue it is full-bodied with oak, straw, pear and yellow apple notes. Despite the oak it is not cloying or fat, the acidity is crisp and provides good structure. This oaky style is not normally for me, but I love this RDD chardonnay!

The wine is not well integrated, the oak has a pronounced vanilla taste that is not going well with the fruits. Peach, stone fruit, lemon.

Love this Chardonnay from Arzuaga. Very unusual for Spain, but delicious. Lovely and round on the palate, and some lovely citrus as well.

Trisent Studio Dubai. Arzuaga Fan D.Oro offers a clean, bright straw-yellow hue with old-gold undertones. It presents intense, complex aromas of tropical fruits intertwined with subtle butter, toasted bread, and nutty nuances. On the palate, it greets you with a cool, sharp entry, evolving into a rich, silky texture framed by floral notes, culminating in a smoky, fruity finish.
