Informal mixed bag wine tasting event in Oslo. Not enough time for detailed tasting. Delicious 2012 vintage. Ripe green fruit, baked apples, white peach, nectarine, stone fruit and mirabelle plums. Ripe citrus of lemon pith and soft lime. Rich minerality, chalk and soft saline notes. Rich autolysis of pastry, bread yeast and butter. Outstanding concentration, acidity and intensity. Delightfull mousse. Long finish. Worth your penny, outstanding and cellar worthy 2012 Champagne.

A palate cleanser from @[1|6065155|Wine Aficionado] after some big reds at lunch last week. This latest release of Charles Heidsieck Brut Millesime is convincing. Bright and lively in the glass with a nose of ripe pear, stewed apple, biscuit and custard. Lots of layers on the palate, lemon zest, chalk, raisin, cinnamon, peach, blossom, all infused with a lovely smoky yeasty caramel richness. Vibrant high acidity. Impressive now and may well improve. Happy New Year! Just gorgeous, a great mix of minerals, fruit, spice and toasty doughy goodness. Fine and penetrating attack. Broad and complex, excellent pulpy mouthfeel, lovely powerful finish. Nutty, hints of sea water, orange brioche, lemon peel, dried apricot, buttered toast. With more years in the bottle this will be spellbinding I’m sure. Served with a quick NYE dinner of fish goujons 4.6⭐️
