El viñedo

Las uvas proceden de viñas viejas, algunas de más de un siglo de edad, cultivadas en la Côte de Nuits bajo principios de agricultura razonada. Este manejo respetuoso del viñedo limita los tratamientos químicos para preservar la pureza del entorno.

Elaboración

Tras la vendimia manual y una selección rigurosa, el mosto fermenta con levaduras autóctonas. La crianza se realiza en barricas de roble francés durante un periodo de 12 a 18 meses.

Good and reliable old school producer, not a super star, but never disappoints and not overpriced. Raphet owns 1,5 ha in Clos de Vougeot, makes 2 Cuvée- regular and this old vines. Translucent ruby colour, slowly unfolding classic aromas of sour cherries, red fruits, violets, peonies and wet underbrush. Medium body, well balanced, fresh, elegant, nuanced and profound. Amazing finish.

Quite perfumed but smaller structured! On the nose: Sour cherry perfume minerals clove floral and reductive. On the palate: good acidity, lean, taut, refined, elegant, silky tannins, but a bit lack of concentration and fruit core.

A ruby red intense experience with plenty of red fruit expressions - cherry and raspberry make a marked component. Also more herby and minerality than I expected accompanying the hints of oak and vanilla. Med acidity and med+ tannins with a nice fruity and med bodied mouth-feel. Remarkable vino!

Bright Ruby Red. Popped and poured. Very floral and open bouquet. Violets, Dark red fruits, new leather and rose petals. Very clean and pure in the palate with Red cherry, raspberry, black tea, peppermint and licorice notes. Crisp acidity and elegant tannins with a sweet long finish. Lovely!

⭐️ 4 for now, 4,5 for potential 🇫🇷 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 🧑‍🌾 Gérard Raphet 🌙 Biodynamic & unfiltered 🗓 2015 🍇 100% Pinot noir from vines between 60 and 100 years old ⛽️ 13,5% 👃 Violet, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, licorice and a whole lot stille to be developed over the years 🍷 Felt like a pedophile pouring this one so young. Yet at the age of a toddler delicately rich, juicy and elegant. ⏱ I’ll try to burry this wine in the cellar for let’s say at least another 10 years.
