The vineyard
The grapes are sourced from clay-limestone terraces located at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria and Montes Obarenes. These poor, well-drained soils, combined with the Atlantic influence of Rioja Alta, provide remarkable elegance and structure to the vines.
Winemaking
Following a manual harvest, fermentation takes place in oak vats. The wine then ages for 26 months in French oak barrels crafted in the winery's own cooperage, followed by traditional fining with fresh egg whites and further bottle aging.
