  • Soil / Altitude: Clay-limestone

La Conty in Beaune with SF & JY (WQ just existed there) - €400 Quite tight/closed, slight butter, gentle vanilla, minerals. Really long finish with a slight hint of walnut. Good potential but needed more air to really bloom.

Classic Coche some reduction- a bit of matchstick smoke on the nose probably needs a bit of time to open up. Style is spot on - complex yet accessible and elegant. It must be a good 20+ years since I last had the chance to enjoy Coche-Dury, courtesy of insane price inflation. This bottle reminded me why Coche remains the undisputed master of the Meursault AOC. M(-) lemon with a green tinge. Superb struck match, moroccan lemons and green olive aromas. High acidity; low abv, m. body. Pronounced moroccan lemons, lime zest oils, hazelnuts and salt give way to a powerfuk, salty finish.

This bottle wasn't as I expected, but it was nonetheless extremely enjoyable and turned out to be an excellent pairing with Sushi, and that is really one can ask for, rather than reductive typificity. Rich nose of tropical fruits, immense dose of sweet white flowers, river stones and baked nuts. Nicely coating textured, with sweet red grapefruit, green apples, vanilla beans, with just a bit of spicy kick at the finish. Lovely dry coating finish.

2026.4.3 William Frachot Dijon A cooler vintage. Bottle breathed for an hour and half before opening up. Yellow peach, citrus, white flowers, reductive, after an hour the buttery, nutty scents came out. Decent wine, not my fav vintage.

Solid showing for Coche-Dury Meursault 2017. Not mind-blowing but exactly what you expect from Coche. Good acidity keeping things tight, some creamy texture and subtle nutty reduction. Balanced and composed rather than explosive. Very enjoyable.

Probably the cleanest Coche I have tasted. Simple elegance with oak, butter, vanilla in a medium plus body style with lots of creaminess. 94 pts

I had this bottle a couple of weeks ago but saved the review to mark my 500th on Vivino, and it could not have been more fitting. By far one of the best wines I’ve had so far. The Meursault 2017 from Coche-Dury is simply breathtaking—layers of hazelnut, citrus, ripe stone fruit, and that silky, mineral-driven texture that lingers forever. Huge thanks to my dear friend George who sacrificed one bottle from his personal collection to make this milestone unforgettable for me!

Too bad this bootle was not tasted like last November, maybe due to bottle variation. Aroma: reductive, mineral, pear. High acidity with short finish. Aug 2025

Consistent notes on this one. Restrained yet powerful, real Meursault. Conrad brought to Dunsmoor; Castelli was there with a 1971 Dom, suitcased in from England. Side by side, these two were a stunning perplexity.

Almost yellow gold in colour, a nose of intense crushed almonds and oak. The attack is almonds and racy acidity. Long finish. It just lingers in the mouth. Too bad it’s too expensive.
