The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from selected parcels in Burgundy, primarily around Meursault. The Coche family manages their vineyards with minimal intervention to express the authentic character of the terroir.

It's probably not fair to compare Coche-Dury's Bourgogne Blanc with other Bourgogne Blancs. It's closer to the good premier cru level, in terms of fruit core intensity, complexity, length, elegance, and finesse. But you pay for it. €390 at a two-star restaurant. Reasonably good deal and worth it in my opinion, but still a lot for a Bourgogne Blanc.

My first Coche thanks to a good friend who's slowly changing his career path to get into wine. His cellar is unbelievable 🥳 Struck match, lemon, toasted hazelnut and peanut shell. Super strong but sexy reduction. Coche? Very refined, with calm and power, much freshness, textured and long with a mouth-watering salty note, lingering with toast and butter. Complete and delicious. Merci Laurent! 94+ 12.5% abv.

Aromas remind me of young Camembert on toast, with green grapes, carambola, and pears. The palate is “green-yellow” in terms of acidity - it’s refreshing and again reminds me of star fruit. Amazing length without being buttery. Easily the best regional white Burgundy I’ve ever had! :-)

Slightly buttery with beeswax as well. It’s well made but for the price just go for a Meursault 1er cru from another producer

Brought by someone else. Balanced, rich, buttery, smooth. Coats the entire mouth and surprisingly intense given it's just a village wine. Medium complexity with nice oak integration and acidity cutting through the richness. Extremely long finish maybe a minute. Highly enjoyable.
