Albariño de Fefiñanes 2025

The Albariño de Fefiñanes is a good wine, but I am not sure it deserves its current rating. The palate is heavily lime-dominated, driving a quite acidic profile that feels distinctively tart. Clocking in at 13% alcohol, the structure leans toward a bitter and tart finish. Right now, it feels a little bit harsh on the palate. Perhaps it will be much better in a year or two once it softens???

Albariño de Fefiñanes 2025. The 2023 was a delight in Antwerp, sans children. Yet somehow even better on Vlieland, with children. Electric freshness, razor-sharp acidity and a whisper of oceanic minerality. A wonderfully crisp, saline little beauty. Simply delightful.

Summer sun = Albariño in our house and this 100% Albariño is the flagship offering from this producer. Bright, straw-yellow colour with intense aromas of fresh citrus fruit, peach and aromatic herbs. Dry with lively acidity, medium body and 13.5% abv. It shows characteristic Albariño vibrancy with good minerality and a long saline finish. Ticks all the boxes😋. Fine 100% Albariño from the area north of Pontevedra (NW Spain). Light lemon yellow colour. Stainless steel only. Clean nose of green apple, lemon zest, grapefruit, passionfruit, some apricot and mint. Lovely texture with a refreshing splash on the palate. Juicy. Medium bodied. 91+ pts.
